PokerStars Rewards got a makeover, and as part of this update, we parted with StarsCoin and the Rewards Store.
After sound research into the topic, we gained valuable insight and extensive player feedback. Most players told us they'd prefer a direct form of reward over substitutes like StarsCoin.
As we're always listening and trying to get better, we've looked into alternatives. While StarsCoin served us well for many years, it seemed a bit out-of-date. It wasn't as intuitive or flexible as we'd expect from features nowadays.
In short, it was time for a change.
We've moved to a more transparent loyalty program with cash as the only monetary reward. Everybody knows its value, and it can be used universally, while StarsCoin was limited to use at the Rewards Store.
We're sure you agree that this boost in flexibility is a good thing.
No, it's not possible to directly withdraw this money. It's the same as with the funds from the Cash Rebates you could previously buy with your StarsCoin in the Rewards Store.
This is a regulatory requirement that is out of our control.
The Rewards Store closed its doors for good.
In case you didn't spend all your StarsCoin in the Rewards Store before it closed its doors, we converted your StarsCoin to cash.
This happened automatically. You didn't have to do anything.
If the PokerStars RSA token (an account security device) has been available for your jurisdiction in the Rewards Store, you might ask yourself what's happening with it. Here's the answer:
We can no longer offer the RSA token, now that the Rewards Store is closed.
One great alternative is the PokerStars PIN. With this, your account is also well protected. It's free and simple to activate.
You can find detailed information about the PokerStars PIN in this Help Center article.
If you already have an RSA token for your PokerStars account, you can relax as you're not affected by this change. Even if you haven't activated the token yet, you can whenever you're ready.
